Safe Sites 2 Click On is a Internet & Web Site Security Research and Testing company based in the UK that was founded by Tom Smith back in October 2004 on the original concept of exposing rogue, malicious and dangerous web sites, During the summer of 2008 the original concept turned from exposing rogue, malicious and dangerous web sites into promoting safe web sites.
In July 2008 www.safe-sites-2-click-on.com was founded based on research and testing conducted by Safe Sites 2 Click On over the previous four years into the threats and issues caused by malicious and rogue web sites to Internet users.
Between July 2008 and December 2009 the web site www.safe-sites-2-click-on.com has undergone major changes and re-designs to develop into an user friendly environment, in January 2010 the final major re-design was finished but is still obtaining new features and improvements many of which are behind the scenes at Safe Sites 2 Click On.
At the end of January 2010 all our testing policies were updated to reflect changes in Internet technology and software, all our policies have the one aim, to protect Safe Sites 2 Click On users and members.
In February 2010 Safe Sites 2 Click On simplified it's web site safety reports which now read as either Safe To Use when no threats and issues have been discovered or detected by Safe Sites 2 Click On, or Use Caution On when minor threats and issues have been discovered or detected by Safe Sites 2 Click On with additional information on how to avoid the threats and issues discovered/detected by Safe Sites 2 Click On.
The web site safety report changes were made to reflect changes in Safe Sites 2 Click On testing policies that meant web sites that are generally safe to use were being penalised for external web site threats or issues.
During 2010 Safe Sites 2 Click On has plans for future improvements many of which are aimed at its members, these include running competitions, enhancing profile pages and building partnerships with Internet Security Companies to be able to offer discounts, free software and exclusive special offers to its most active members.
Safe Sites Directory.
The Safe Sites 2 Click On main directory is located under the menu option Safe Sites, all the web sites that have successfully passed our strict testing and background checks are eligible for listing under this directory, these web sites are required to meet the Safe Sites 2 Click On Web Site Requirements, Criteria and Provisions Policy to gain placement and remain listed in the Safe Sites Directory.
The web sites listed Safe Sites Directory were all removed in December 2009 and as of March 2010 are under re-testing to ensure they meet our updated and revised Web Site Requirements, Criteria and Provisions Policy.

Brief History.

- June 2008 - The company name Safe Sites 2 Click On is founded and the purchase of the domain name www.safe-sites-2-click-on.com carried out.
- July 2008 - The first web site for Safe Sites 2 Click On is launched in a very limited and basic format.
- August 2008 to December 2009 - The web site Safe Sites 2 Click has been redesigned, updated and changed to its current design and format.
- April 2010 - Safe Sites 2 Click On moves to new servers to improve site performance and features.
- April 2010 - Safe Sites 2 Click On aquires the domain name www.safe-sites-to-click-on.com.

Safe Sites 2 Click On is privately funded by the founder of the original concept and through specially selected advertisements, these advertisements are required to meet our Web Site Requirements, Criteria & Provisions Policy.
